
About Me
Daniel Tsang is a pianist, composer, educator, ABRSM and IB Music examiner. Born in Hong Kong, Daniel began studying the piano at the age of five. He later immigrated to Toronto, Canada, and continued his musical studies. Daniel holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and an Associate of The Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) in Piano and Vocal Performance. His teachers include Larysa Kuzmenko (composition), Alexander Rapoport (composition), John Tuttle (organist), Lynda Metelsky (piano), John Kruspe (piano), Melissa Bencic (voice), George Hurst (orchestral conducting), Bev Stainton (choral conducting) and Michael Zaugg (choral conducting). Awards received include the Silver Medal of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where he received the highest mark in the Grade 10 Vocal Exam in the province of Ontario, Barwell scholarship on the organ, University of Toronto Gospel Choir award and a finalist of the Original Gospel Music Competition. As a composer, Daniel has written numerous choral and piano works.

Daniel has taught piano for over 25 years both in Toronto and Hong Kong and is experienced in various styles such as classical, jazz, gospel, and pop. He teaches students with strong technical foundations, genre-specific stylistic features, the ability to play by ear, and an appreciation of music.
Daniel is a RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) Certified Teacher. He has also been a school music teacher for more than 12 years and is currently teaching IB Music (MYP and DP) in Hong Kong.
